What is a Buttock Lift?
A buttock lift is a body contouring procedure designed to lift and reshape sagging buttocks by removing excess, loose skin and tightening the remaining tissue. This procedure is different from buttock augmentation (BBL or implants) as it focuses on lifting drooping buttocks rather than adding volume. The buttock lift is ideal for individuals who have lost significant weight or have sagging due to aging, gravity, and loss of skin elasticity. The surgery creates a more youthful, toned buttock appearance and can dramatically improve overall body contour. It's often combined with other body contouring procedures for comprehensive results.
The Procedure
The surgery is performed under general anesthesia and takes 2-3 hours. Incisions are made along the top of the buttocks at the waistline, or sometimes in the crease beneath the buttocks, depending on the degree of lifting needed. Excess skin is removed and the remaining tissue is pulled upward and secured. Underlying tissues are tightened to provide support and lift. Liposuction may be used to enhance contours. The incisions are carefully closed to minimize visible scarring, typically hidden beneath underwear or swimwear.
Ideal Candidates
Ideal candidates have sagging buttocks due to weight loss or aging, excess buttock skin without need for volume, maintain stable weight, have realistic expectations, are non-smokers, and in good overall health.
